Personal Lines Account Manager

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The essential functions of a Personal Lines Account Manager include supporting the service needs of clients and making changes to their accounts.

  • Handles the marketing, quoting, application-completion, submits to carriers and follows up to completion any new business
  • Follows Agency program to round and upsell personal-lines accounts
  • Proactively identifies policies requiring renewal attention with activities
  • Handles endorsements, generates activities, underwrites carefully, and follows-up on overdue activities
  • Handles phone calls, walk-in activity by clients, carriers and others
  • Handles cancellations appropriately and works with company underwriters to remarket when necessary
  • Meets goals for new business

Required Skills and Experience

College degree or equivalent is desired. Must be organized with demonstrated skills for effective communication both verbal and written, with the ability to influence others. Should be familiar with all operations and have a thorough understanding of the agency system. Should have at least three years experience in Personal Lines underwriting and marketing with a multi-line insurance agency or brokerage operation.

  • Property & Casualty License
  • Full knowledge of insurance products and usages.
  • Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and write assigned client
  • Full knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
  • Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
  • Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables
