Questions About McSweeney & Ricci Registry Services

Is McSweeney & Ricci the Registry?

No. While McSweeney & Ricci Insurance does provide some registry services to our clients from our 3 locations in Braintree, Marshfield and Cohasset, we are not the Registry of Motor Vehicles and cannot perform all registry transactions.

I am a McSweeney & Ricci client, what registry transactions can you complete for me?

For the safety of the community, our offices remain closed to the public. With a scheduled appointment, we can complete the following Registry transactions for our clients:

Issuance of New License Plates and Decals for the Following Plate Types:

  • PAN (Passenger Normal)
  • CON (Commercial Normal)
  • TRN (Trailer Normal)-Over 3,000 Gross Vehicle Weight
  • MCN (Motorcycle Normal)

Transferring Plates Between Vehicles

How long will it take for McSweeney & Ricci to complete my registry transaction?

Our runner service allows us to process “non-essential” RMV transactions. However, when the Registry is experiencing extended wait times, our turn-around time is also affected. Your McSweeney & Ricci Account Manager will discuss your individual transaction with you and provide an estimated turn-around time.  It’s always our goal to process your transaction, as quicky as possible.

I am NOT a client but bought a new car and need to register it, can I still utilize McSweeney & Ricci’s Registry Services?

Unfortunately, no. Our participation in the EVR program through the Registry only allows us to process registry transactions for our own clients.

How can I become a client and use your registry services?

It’s quick and easy to become a client and we hope that you will! Along with the convenience of on-site Registry Services, we enjoy helping clients save up to 20% by combining their home/renters/condo and car insurance together with one of the great insurance companies we represent.

I renewed my Massachusetts Auto Registration online and have not received it in the mail, where is it?

Registrations renewed through McSweeney & Rici or processed directly through the Registry of Motor Vehicles will be mailed out from the RMV directly. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic the Registry has been experiencing delays and is making every attempt to complete transactions promptly.

I need to renew my Driver’s License can you renew it for me?

No. We apologize but transactions regarding Learner’s Permits, Driver’s Licenses, Real ID’s, School Bus Certificates, Road Tests, and Disability Placards, must be completed through the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Click Here to be connected to the RMV online Service Center.
