This past Saturday, McSweeney & Ricci Insurance Agency helped support the DJ Henry Dream Fund by attending their “Sky’s the Limit-9th Annual DJ Henry Dream Fund Gala”.
The DJ Henry Dream Fund was established in memory of Danroy “DJ” Henry, Jr., to carry on his passion for sports and for people by raising funds to provide financial access for children and youth to say “yes” to achieving their goals through athletics, the arts and community programs as part of their “Power of Yes” campaign.
Held at the beautiful Skywalk Observatory in Boston, the gala included a cocktail reception, dinner, music provided by Baltazar, and several special guests in support of the DJ Henry Dream Fund. Several silent auctions were held and there was a “giving wall” where attendees could sponsor a child to participate in an athletic or arts program. In attendance were, Governor Charlie Baker, Congressman Joe Kennedy III and State Representative Claire Cronin. The night included a special thank you from a mother and a dance from her daughter, who is a DJ Henry Dream Fund recipient. The mother shared their experience of how the organization has impacted their lives.
Stephen Marcus provided the introduction for DJ’s parents, Angella and Danroy and his sister Amber, who thanked attendees and spoke of their son’s love of sports, self-discipline, and good sportsmanship and how his legacy is carried forward through the work of the DJ Henry Dream Fund.
McSweeney & Ricci President Mary Lou Ricci and daughter Kim Leary, COO Tim Hall, Vice President of Personal Lines and Private Client Group Manager, Jessica Supitkowsky attended the gala on behalf of the agency as well. McSweeney & Ricci Commercial Lines Vice President, Nancy Matanes, a longtime friend of the Henry family who has attended the gala each year with her husband said, “I cannot say enough about this family or the Gala. The Henry’s are one of the most inspirational, families I have ever met. They took the darkest of times and turned it into a way to improve the lives of others. I will continue to support the efforts of the DJ Henry Dream Fund as it benefits so many children, both physically and emotionally to achieve their goals.”
