McSweeney & Ricci Insurance Agency is committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. The agency’s corporate culture encourages charity, volunteering, and sponsoring local efforts whenever possible. Whether it’s the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club, Putting for Patients at Cohasset High School, participating in the lunch program for Support the Soupman Foundation, or funding scholarships for students from Marshfield, Braintree, or Cohasset High Schools, we try to support as many local charities and events as possible.

We particularly enjoy charity events that help children. Our favorite event has become our participation in the “Frosty Friends” program. For the second consecutive year, McSweeney & Ricci employees provided students from Ellis Memorial School in Boston with backpacks filled with supplies at the start of school, and have also purchased gifts for the children through their “Frosty Friends” charity gift program during the holiday season. Ellis Memorial provides education and care for infants, toddlers and preschool children, as well as out-of-school programs for youth in kindergarten through seventh grade, at locations in the South End, Roxbury, South Boston and Dorchester. Each holiday season, Ellis does a volunteer gift drive for students in their program, called “Frosty Friends.” During the gift drive, each child creates a “wish list” of three gifts they would like to receive. Corporate sponsors are given the children’s lists and asked to donate one item off the list for each child.  Ellis then holds a holiday party to distribute the gifts to the children.

McSweeney & Ricci was given a list of twenty-eight children ranging in age from three to five years old, from Ellis’ preschool and Pre-K classes. McSweeney & Ricci employees wanted to give the children the best possible holiday and donated three to four gifts per child. Employees purchased toys that ranged from American Girl Dolls, Paw Patrol, My Little Pony, PJ Masks, Baby Alive Dolls, L.O.L Surprise dolls, robots, books, and Matchbox cars off the children’s Wish Lists. Once the donated gifts were brought into the office, a wrapping party was held in the office.  Lunch was supplied, wrapping paper, bows, and gift bags were supplied. McSweeney & Ricci employees wore Santa hats and reindeer antlers as they spent time wrapping the gifts they had purchased. General Services Administrator, Adriana Hamlin reflected, “Participating in the Frosty Friends program is such a great way to get into the spirit of giving and the true spirit of the holidays. Knowing we are helping little kids have a great holiday and thinking of the smiles on their faces as they receive their gifts, makes me so happy!”Vice President, Patrick Leary loaded up all the gifts and delivered them to Ellis Memorial in Dorchester. McSweeney & Ricci plans to continue to support the wonderful students of Ellis Memorial School in the future.
